Because he was a soul, by nature he was all things good: compassionate, patient, honest, virtuous, and

The Fellowship of the Ring

The Fellowship of the RingJ. R. R. Tolkien

          FOREWORD

This tale grew in the telling, until it became a history of the Great War of the Ring and included many glimpses of the yet more ancient history that preceded it. It was begun soon after The Hobbit was written and before its publication in 1937; but I did not go on with this sequel, for I wished first to complete and set in order the mythology and legends of the Elder Days, which had then been taking shape for some years. I desired to do this for my own satisfaction, and I had little hope that other people would be interested in this work, especially since it was primarily linguistic in inspiration and was begun in order to provide the necessary background of history for Elvish tongues. When those whose advice and opinion I sought corrected little hope to no hope, I went back to the sequel, encouraged by requests from readers for more information concerning hobbits and their adventures. But the story was drawn irresistibly towards the older world, and became an account, as it were, of its end and passing away before its beginning and middle had been told. The process had begun in the writing of The Hobbit, in which there were already some references to the older matter: Elrond, Gondolin, the High-elves, and the orcs, as well as glimpses that had arisen unbidden of things higher or deeper or darker than its surface: Durin, Moria, Gandalf, the Necromancer, the Ring. The discovery of the significance of these glimpses and of their relation to the ancient

Plague is the fourth book in a young-adult supernatural dystopian novel series written by Michael Grant. The first novel in the Gone series, also entitled Gone, was originally published in 2008. The second book, Hunger, was released a year later, followed by the third book, Lies, on May 4, 2010. This fourth, released on April 5, 2011, is titled Plague; books 5 and 6 will be entitled Fear and Light respectively.
Michael Grant's book Plague starts with a short chapter about Pete Ellison which describes life from his point of view. Sam Temple is revealed to be drunk after seeing Brittney/Drake earlier in the day and feeling particularly low about his and Astrid's relationship decline. Sam had obtained the alcohol previously stating that he was "confiscating" it from Orc and Howard, he did not intend to drink any but invariably ended up consuming the entire pack when he is at the clifftop that Mary Terrafino committed suicide from. In blind drunken rage he attacks the FAYZ wall but his efforts yield no result; whilst he is up on the clifftop Taylor "bounces" up to see him and they end up kissing...

Nights in Rodanthe is a novel by American writer Nicholas Sparks in September 2002.
Set in Rodanthe, North Carolina, the story follows the romance of a divorced mother, Adrienne Willis, and a divorced father and surgeon, Paul Flanner. The novel's two main protagonists meet in an inn in Rodanthe and fall in love; however, fate falls upon them when they realize that leaving Rodanthe would mean going back to their separate lives.
Nicholas Sparks based parts of his story on his own life's events, particularly his courting of the woman he married, Cathy Cote. Themes of love and sacrifice are incorporated in the novel. Nights in Rodanthe was adapted into a 2008 film of the same name.
The story Nights in Rodanthe begins in 2002 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Adrienne Willis, a part-time librarian and divorced mother of three, is helping her daughter, Amanda, cope with depression. Amanda is having problems coping with the loss her husband and is having difficulties raising her two children. In an effort to show that life goes on despite trying times, Adrienne tells her daughter the story of her relationship with Paul Flanner, whom she met in 1988...

  Preface

I'd never given much thought to how I would die -- though I'd had reason enough in
the last few months -- but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this.
I stared without breathing across the long room, into the dark eyes of the hunter, and he
    looked pleasantly back at me.
Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone I loved. Noble,
even. That ought to count for something.
I knew that if I'd never gone to Forks, I wouldn't be facing death now. But, terrified as I
was, I couldn't bring myself to regret the decision. When life offers you a dream so far
beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.
The hunter smiled in a friendly way as he sauntered forward to kill me.
    1. First Sight

My mother drove me to the airport with the windows rolled down. It was seventy-five
degrees in Phoenix, the sky a perfect, cloudless blue. I was wearing my favorite shirt --

The youngest of three teenage sisters, Nora Charles is used to being the brunt of their teasing, but that doesn't stop her from making tenacious plans to travel the world, write books and ride elephants. After the death of their father, the Charles women seek to make a new start in a new town.
Cold Springs is a historic village, its rainbow-hued gingerbread houses clinging to the side of the mountain. Nora and her sisters soon discover that this quaint town has a dark and disturbing history. It's up to the Charles sisters to save a new friend and discover the dangerous secret behind a mysterious group of women.
This tale unfolds amid winding Victorian streets, jack-0-lantern filled shops and hidden passageways. The girls humorously bicker their way through the most dangerous adventure of their lives, only to come face to face with the irrepressible bonds of sisterhood.

Scraper is the story of a young punk rocker, Steve Bryant, who's hell bent on getting a band going. He has continual run-ins with skinheads, hippies, girlfriends, streetkids, tunnels, proto-Goths, hyperactive drummers, the police, rugby thugs, and most of all his father, Tom. As New Zealand in 1981 becomes increasingly divided over the Springbok Tour and Scraper transforms into a political band, things go from bad to worse. Note on language: I hope this won't offend anyone, but the protagonist is an angry young man and the language used is appropriate for his character. If you find four letter works offensive, best avoid reading this novel.

Bashed by Barbara Marquardt
As school closes for Christmas, a teacher doing her best in a failing and chaotic high school is knocked down by an abusive student and locked into a Biology storage closet. As the room has a sink and some food stored for lunches and prep periods, she is only in danger of spending two horrible weeks dieting in a cold room with no toilet or bed or much else beyond obsolete books and broken equipment. Waiting and hoping for rescue, she creates order and routines, finds ways to make the best of her time and solitude, and ponders her life and career. The student had said he would claim self defense, say that she had demanded sex in exchange for a passing grade. That charge, strange given that he was a burly 18 year old skinhead and football player with a stud's reputation, makes the news when she's finally rescued. The public and school officials are quick to blame her, for incompetence if not for the sex charge, although she also tells her side, files a police complaint, and tries to get union help. Even her daughter and boyfriend, though on her side and sure she is innocent, seem to wonder how she let such a thing happen. The event changes her life in many ways.

The Outsiders is a coming-of-age novel based in 1965 by S. E. Hinton, first published in 1967 by Viking Press. Hinton was 15 when she started writing the novel, and 18 when it was published. The book follows two rival groups, the Greasers and the Socs (pronounced by the author as "so-shez", short for Socials), who are divided by their socioeconomic status.
A film adaptation was produced in 1983.
Ponyboy Curtis and his brothers, Soda and Darry, belong to a gang of lower-class youth called the Greasers in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1965. They often fight with the Socs, a group of wealthy, privileged boys. Ponyboy is a shy, quiet 14-year-old boy who gets good grades and likes to draw and read. Sodapop, the middle brother, is handsome and gets along well with the other Greasers. Darry, the oldest brother, has been caring for his brothers since their parents died in a car crash. He is very serious, works most of the time, and often yells at Ponyboy. Darry is athletic and was a good student, but he had to give up his education to care for his brothers so that they wouldn't have to separate and go to an orphanage. Dallas (Dally) Winston is the roughest of the Greasers, having lived on the streets of New York City for three years. He seems to enjoy being a criminal and thinks that the law is a big joke. Two other Greasers are Two-Bit Mathews, who has a prodigious sense of humor, and Steve Randle, Sodapop's best friend. Finally, Johnny, the pet of the Greasers and 16 years old, is Ponyboy's closest friend and lives with his alcoholic and abusive mother and father. Johnny was jumped and beat up by a Soc wearing heavy rings. Ever since then, Johnny has been paranoid about the Socs and always carries a switchblade.

Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. As the sequel to the 2008 bestseller The Hunger Games, it continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the fictional, futuristic nation of Panem.
Catching Fire takes place in a fictional country called Panem which is located in present day North America. The Capitol is located somewhere in the "Rockies," probably referring to the Rocky Mountains of the western United States. District 12, Katniss' home district is located in the coal-rich region called "Appalachia," also probably referring to the Appalachian Mountains in the eastern United States. There are a total of 12 Districts, but there once was a 13th which was destroyed in the rebellion. The Hunger Games takes place in a stadium specially built for the event, but is never specified where.

A Clockwork Orange is a 1962 dystopian novella by Anthony Burgess. Burgess gave three explanations for the origins of the title. In a prefatory note to A Clockwork Orange: A Play with Music, Anthony Burgess wrote that the title was a metaphor for "...an organic entity, full of juice and sweetness and agreeable odour, being turned into an automaton." In his essay, "Clockwork Oranges", Anthony Burgess asserts that "this title would be appropriate for a story about the application of Pavlovian or mechanical laws to an organism which, like a fruit, was capable of colour and sweetness". The title A Clockwork Orange alludes to the protagonist's positively conditioned responses to feelings of evil which prevent the exercise of his free will. To reverse this conditioning, the protagonist is subjected to a technique in which his emotional responses to violence are systematically paired with a negative stimulation in the form of nausea caused by an emetic medicine administered just before the presentation of films depicting violent, and "ultra-violent" situations. Written from the perspective of a seemingly unapologetic protagonist, the novel A Clockwork Orange also contains an experiment in language: Burgess creates teenage slang of the not-too-distant future.

Ch-1: A horrified Scream. ( Free Novels - Aghast ) by http://read-book-online-free.blogspot.com

It was a dark, gloomy night and raining ferociously. In the evening air, the sound of cricket's chirping was the only noise to be heard. On one huge tree near the bungalow, an owl, soaked in the rain water, sat still. Its penetrating flitting eyes moved around and settled on a window through which light was coming out. It was the only window of the bungalow which was illuminated with the rest of the lights ceasing to be on. Suddenly a group of pigeons sat at the window for some shelter before flying off in a hurry, fluttering their wings in fear.  They may have sensed the presence of some invisible being there. Since the window glasses were opaque, coloured white, the interior of the room was not visible.

Death Among the Dinosaurs

Darby Hollinger only made one mistake in life. He mentioned Intelligent Design in one of his papers and immediately lost his place in the respectable world of science. When he attempts to commit suicide, he wakes up, not in heaven or hell, but in an academic world that no one knew existed, one where any scientific idea is acceptable as long as it is viable.

A story about love, death and Survival of the Fittest.

2052-The Hawking Plan by Ira Glickstein

What will life, liberty and technology be like several decades in the future? A peaceful world where large-scale military conflict is absent. A political economy dominated and effectively ruled by transnational corporations. A civilization where reason is trusted and faith is suspect. A "positive ID" regime where religion-based terrorism has been suppressed, along with virtually all anonymity and privacy. A society where most people, including ministers, priests and rabbis are not literal believers. A post global warming world where humanity has been decimated by genetic engineering disasters. A population served by Intelligent Robotic Agents, certified intelligent at the average human level. A brilliant plan to spread human life and civilization far and wide into space as insurance against further disasters here on Earth.

1812: The Rivers of War by Eric Flint
Eric Flint's acclaimed 1634: The Galileo Affair was a national bestseller from one of the most talked-about voices in his field. Now, in this extraordinary new alternate history, Flint begins a dramatic saga of the North American continent at a dire turning point, forging its identity and its future in the face of revolt from within, and attack from without.
In the War of 1812, U.S. troops are battling the British on the Canadian border, even as a fierce fight is being waged against the Creek followers of the Indian leader Tecumseh and his brother, known as The Prophet. In Europe, Napoleon Bonaparte's war has become a losing proposition, and the British are only months away from unleashing a frightening assault on Washington itself. Fateful choices are being made in the corridors of power and on the American frontier. As Andrew Jackson, backed by Cherokee warriors, leads a fierce attack on the Creek tribes, his young republic will soon need every citizen soldier it can find.
With a cast of unforgettable characters—from James Monroe and James Madison to Sam Houston, Francis Scott Key, and Cherokee chiefs John Ross and Major Ridge — The Rivers of War travels from the battle of Horseshoe Bend to the battle of New Orleans, and brings every explosive moment to life. With exquisite attention to detail, an extraordinary grasp of history, and a storyteller's gift for the dramatic, Flint delivers a bold, thought-provoking epic of enemies and allies, traitors and revolutionaries, and illuminates who we are as a nation, how we got here, and how history itself is made—and remade.

A man was sitting in a chair in the corner, his outline barely visible in the dimness. He had a sawed-off rifle with a silencer—pointed at them. "Who are you—what do you want—?" she cried. The constable cracked an eyelid, but didn't let on he was awake, as he carefully slid his hand down the side of his mattress to where he'd laid his. 44. "Wake him up!" the man demanded. Wanda shook the constable. "Okay—I'm awake—what's going on?" the constable said as he sat up, bringing his. 44 up under the blankets. "A man—with a gun!" Wanda cried.
